Kia Australia have expanded the Tasman range with the addition of Single Cab Chassis and Dual Cab Chassis variants, further strengthening its offering for customers seeking practical, work-ready solutions.
The two Dual Cab Chassis variants became available in Australian dealerships from August, offered in both S and SX trim levels and equipped with the Tasman’s advanced 4×4 drivetrain. The Single Cab Chassis variants are scheduled to follow in late 2025.
Fleet customers are able to pair their cab-chassis Tasman with a Kia Genuine Accessories tray, along with optional additions such as an under-tray drawer, toolbox, and water tank — ideal for those seeking a tailored, work-ready setup.
Tasman Kia Genuine Accessories
While the Tasman itself has benefitted from significantly more Australian input than any other Kia, a range of 40 Kia Genuine Accessories have been developed in Australia to help owners make the most of the Tasman’s many abilities.
Beyond the cab-chassis tray options, there’s a variety of roof storage layouts, canopies, tonneau covers, a sports bar or sail plane for Pick-Up models and multiple bull bar, sidestep and tow bar configurations to choose from.
There’s also a car fridge, folding table, a variety of floor mat options, headlamp protectors, bonnet protectors, weathershields, sill protection, a roadside assist kit and aromatherapy diffuser.

Tasman Towing Capability – Built for Serious Hauling
The Kia Tasman is engineered to handle tough towing jobs with confidence, making it a strong choice for fleet operators. Every Tasman model supports a benchmark 3,500kg braked towing capacity and 350kg tow ball weight, backed by smart mechanical features and advanced towing technology.
One standout feature is the Integrated Trailer Brake Controller (ITBC) — factory-fitted across the range, unlike many competitors. This system lets drivers fine-tune trailer brake force across 20 levels, improving stability and safety when towing. An easy-to-reach override button adds extra control when needed.
The ITBC works alongside Trailer Stability Assist, which helps manage trailer sway by automatically applying corrective braking — even beyond what the driver can do manually — to keep everything steady and safe.
When towing, drivers can activate Tow Mode via a long press on the Drive Mode selector. This adjusts the transmission’s shift logic based on load weight, holding gears longer and maintaining engine power for smoother cruising. It also helps on downhill stretches by selecting lower gears automatically, reducing brake strain.
Trailer Mode activates automatically when a trailer is connected. It adjusts or disables certain active safety systems to suit towing conditions, ensuring the vehicle behaves appropriately under load.
Drivers can also use the Trailer page in the multimedia system to save specific trailer setups, making it quick and easy to get going each time.
Under the bonnet, the Tasman’s 154kW/440Nm 2.2L turbo diesel engine is supported by a water-to-air intercooler and dedicated cooling systems for both engine and transmission. These include high- and low-temperature radiators and a heavy-duty cooling fan — the most robust setup in any Kia vehicle to date — ensuring reliable performance even under heavy towing conditions.
Tasman Specification & Features
Built on an all-new ladder frame platform, the Kia Tasman is available in five trim levels — S, SX, SX+, X-Line, and X-Pro — across 4×2 and 4×4 configurations. The range includes Single Cab Chassis (S 4×2, S 4×4, SX 4×4), Dual Cab Chassis (S 4×4, SX 4×4), and Dual Cab Pick-Up variants spanning all five trims.
All Tasman models offer payloads exceeding 1,000kg, with even the top-spec X-Pro 4×4 capable of carrying 1,013kg. Dual Cab Pick-Up variants are also available with reduced payload options to suit novated lease requirements.
With a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of 3,250kg and Gross Combination Mass (GCM) of 6,200kg, the Tasman supports a braked towing capacity of 3,500kg and unbraked loads up to 750kg. An Integrated Trailer Brake Controller (ITBC) is standard across the range for enhanced towing safety.
The Dual Cab Pick-Up sets a benchmark for tub size, fitting a full Australian pallet and offering up to 1,336 litres of capacity. Under-seat storage in dual cabs reaches 45 litres, and X-Line/X-Pro models feature segment-first sliding and reclining second-row seats for added comfort.
Additional innovations include a folding console table and dual wireless phone charging on X-Line and X-Pro grades. All models feature Kia’s Integrated Panoramic Display with 12.3” driver and multimedia screens, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Kia Connect, and OTA updates.
The Tasman is offered in eight exterior colours and three interior trim options, ranging from cloth in S/SX to full artificial leather in X-Line/X-Pro.
